I think that the people are very excited that they finally get to vote.
I see that there are curtains separating different voting booths.
I wonder what they did with their voting paper after they were done.
I think that the people feel very achieved because they finally got to vote.
I see that the people that work at the booth are taking many blacks.
I wonder if the people running the booths were nice to the balcks when they were voting.
I think this might be the time when they always let blacks vote, leading out of segragation.
I see thart everyone in that room for voting is black.
I wonder what they were thinking when they finally got to vote.
I think that this was a seperate room for black people that wanted to vote.
I see that they let men and women vote.
I wonder who the people were that were running for president.
I think that it might be there first time voting.
I see that the room the blacks are in arent that bad...not too dirty or gross.
I wonder if the people that finally get to vote had to wait in a long line before they got in.
I think the people are anxious to vote because they just got the privlidge of being able to.
I see that there are more then one booth.
I wonder if the people that were working at the booths are white or black.
I think that this is probably a very big surprise that they finally get to vote.
I see that the backround looks like a school.
When Dorothy first tried to go in the door to vote, the colored door was locked but the white door was open. Also, they took down Dorothys lisence plate because she kicked the door when the colored door was locked and the people that worked there saw her but wouldnt let her in. Later, Dorothys husband got fired because she wanted to be treated equally. Something else I found in this book that was an example of descrimination was when Dorothy finally did get in the voting place. She waited there for over two hours while white people came right in and voted without waiting. Also, she noticed when she got in the voting place that the colored side was dirty and there were ciggarettes on the floor but the white side was clean and didnt have anything on the floor. When it was finally Dorothys time to vote, they handed her a test to prove that the race qualified but the whites didnt have to take any test. Something about that test that I think really shows discrimination is that the 5 on the type writer was defective as it was printed on the test. Another thing they did before the colored people could actually vote they made them pay a fee of five dollars which was a lot back then but the whites could vote for free. This chapter really showed me how unfair discrimination was.

"Segergation now, segergation tommorow, segreigation forever". I think that this is an example of discimintaion because there saying that whites and blacks will never be equal. It also seems like there saying whites will always have power and will never let anyone else have power. This sticks out to me because its sounds mean and unfair for the blacks. Another example of descrimination is when the people went to march, the troopers were gonna use violence and the other people werent. The blacks were people who though that they could talk it out instead of fighting/using violence. They didnt fight back no matter what. It made me feel bad for the blacks because they got discriminated against.

Example from chapter 6
The govenors favorite term was "segragation today, segragation tommorow, segragation forever" and his one word slogan was "Never" meaning no intergration. When Martian Luther King Jr. lead his peace march from Selma to Montgomery, when king and his followers got to Montgomery the were beaten and whiped by the police. The chief of police was wearing a "Never" pin when police attacked the people in the peace march in a savage way. The black people were discriminated against like the Jews were discriminated against.
